Today’s workout:
Power lifting A +
30min soft sand run
Today is the first training day on the Tough Mudder routine, and it was a cracker to start with! Training with CrossFit Broadbeach on Friday’s, doing their WOD and it was a new Australian Hero WOD named “Wood”. Hero WODs are CrossFits way of honoring fallen soldiers. Despite what you may think of war, it is important to remember what is left behind from war, and that those who go to war, go selflessly.
Australian Army Sergeant Brett Wood, 32, of Ferntree Gully, Victoria, assigned to the 2nd Commando Regiment, based in Sydney, New South Wales, died on May 23, 2011, in Helmand province, Afghanistan, after insurgents attacked him with an improvised explosive device. He is survived by his wife Elvi, his mother Allison, and his father David.
“Wood” -
5 rounds for time, with 1 minute rest in between sets of:
400m run
10x burpee to 24” box jumps
10x 40kg sumo-deadlift-high-pull
10x 40kg thrusters
My total time, 24min 40sec

I’m an engineer, social innovator and crossfitter. This is my blog on most things really, but concentrating mostly on my routine as I prepare for Tough Mudder 2012, Sydney Australia!
My goal is to finish in the top 5% and raise money for the Engineers Without Borders Australia along the way. My training will focus mostly on CrossFit methods, mixing between traditional CrossFit, CrossFit Endurance and some cross country things.
